I was out of the office when some of our arsenal of Pappy arrived!
We’re not opening and sneaking a sip of these until our guests arrive!
Probably.
Cheers!

BASTAN HABBA
Did a quick fly up to Massachusetts (Berkshire Mountains) to see the big sister this weekend. Found me some Putnam (Distillery located in Boston Harbor. Ok, I know, I’m on the opposite side of the state. But hey, it’s still Sawx country! lol) Rye and Malt Whiskey. When in New England…
Easy drinking. The malt is creamy with not too much going on. If you like soft and neutral, you’ll like this whiskey. The rye had a bit more jump to it. But if you’re looking for a big, spicy, peppery bite, you won’t find it here.
I think me and sister Sue are going to switch to Napa Cab for now. Lol
(We’re NYers who grew up in the SF Bay Area. Can’t help ourselves!)
But Putnam’s not a bad little dram if you’re hiding in the hills!
Cheers!

Tell Me Something Good!
Was out and about last weekend and stopped by Saxon, the sexy side of Sweetwater in Boynton (But let’s be honest, both sides are sexy) to say hi to one of my spiritual colleagues and consiglieres, Brett Hart.
I said surprise me, but added that lately been in the mood for a higher rye content, and he handed us this bottle! SHENKS!! HELL, YES!! A forgotten favorite of the Michter’s Legacy Series along with Bomberger’s.
(And that’s why I trust that guy !)
Flying up to New England this weekend but highly recommend you try this dram. Absolutely delicious with just the perfect level of nip.
Your spiritual advisor has spoken!
And thanks, Brett!
Cheers!

Nice shout out from the Sun-Sentinel for Warren and their spiritual advisor!! (Google: Sun-Sentinel Bacon & Bourbon Fest) Come see our bartenders, Matt Goldberg, Dave Heid and many of our Warren Crew as the Annual Bourbon & Bacon returns to South Florida!!!
Look who came to visit! The SDSC’s founder, John Brewer, was in the house last night for a sneak peak of Warren American Whiskey Kitchen and to talk with us about our vision for service, spirits, cuisine and hospitality. Thanks, John. Keep doing what you’re doing to support and help all of us in the restaurant and bar world!!
Barrels. And More Barrels.
We’re getting closer all the time to opening day but as we work on getting Warren American Whiskey Kitchen ready for you we have new and old whiskey barrels arriving almost daily!! (I’m a little partial to the new ones full of whiskey, but hey, that’s just me! Lol)
But the classic, used barrels from Buffalo Trace, Elijah Craig, etc that are arriving are pretty badass, too!
This place is going to be loaded with American Oak and all kinds of classic barrels!
And we’ll never run out of ideas for what to do with them!
Cheers!

Can’t wait to share!!
Cheers!
